Decograde Concrete Resurfacing applies spray-on concrete finishes in Picnic Point. A cement-based coat is sprayed over a prepared slab, textured and sealed, which suits paths, entries and patios that are sound but dull. Call (02) 9090 4131 to talk it through.
Why spray-on suits Picnic Point paths and entries
Garden paths, steps and entries close to planting suit a finish that is easy to mask. Spray-on is thin, so it keeps the slab’s levels and edges, and it can be applied around fixed features without lifting them. Leaf stain and shade growth are common near trees, so a sealed surface also makes cleaning easier.
Colour and pattern choices
A single mid-tone is the baseline. Add a border, a second tone or a stencil and the hours go up. Mid-greys and warm sandy tones tend to hide leaf stain better than pale surfaces. We bring samples and ask you to look at them outside in daylight.

Why preparation shows through spray-on
Spray-on copies what is under it, so cracks, stains and loose patches will show unless they are repaired first. We clean, strip, repair and etch before any spray goes on. That preparation is the part that decides how long the finish lasts.

Edges, steps and tight corners
Flat open areas go quickly. Steps, edges and tight corners take longer and add to the price per square metre, so we measure them separately. Masking tape lines are lifted by hand to keep the edge clean.

Spray-on and the existing surface
Spray-on works over concrete that is solid and clean. It does not hide movement, a crumbling surface or a slab that holds water. If your path or entry has stained, worn or faded concrete but is otherwise sound, spray-on is often the most economical way to renew it, and the thin layer leaves levels and edges as they are.

Sealing and keeping the finish clean
Sealer protects spray-on from stains, UV and wear and makes it easier to wash. We name the sealer in the estimate and tell you how long to wait before foot traffic and before furniture goes back. Sweep leaf litter regularly in a leafy suburb, wash with water and a mild cleaner, and keep harsh chemicals off the surface.
Spray-on around garden beds and steps
Entries and paths often run beside garden beds, retaining walls and steps. Spray-on suits that setting because it can be masked tightly against walls and planting. We protect plants and render with covers, keep overspray off neighbouring surfaces and clean up before we leave. If a step edge is chipped, we repair it first so the new surface has a crisp line.
We also tell you about upkeep before you commit. A sealed spray-on surface needs a periodic wash and, in time, a fresh coat of sealer. If you would rather keep maintenance low, tell us, and we will suggest a colour and texture that forgive dirt, leaf stain and the odd scuff.

Answers to common questions
Does spray-on need a fresh slab?
No. It goes over a sound existing slab once the surface is cleaned, repaired and etched. A slab that is moving needs that fixed first.
Can I choose a pattern for a small entry?
Yes. A small area suits a stencil well, and the extra hours are modest. We show you the pattern on a sample before it goes on your slab.
How do I look after the finish?
Sweep leaf litter, wash with water and a mild cleaner, and avoid harsh chemicals. We tell you when the sealer is likely to need renewing.
Will spray-on cover a crack?
It will not hide a moving crack. Hairline cracks are repaired first and the layer then goes over them. A wider crack that keeps opening needs its cause looked at before we spray.
