Decograde Concrete Resurfacing resurfaces concrete across the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, from our base in Panania. Resurfacing lays a new bonded surface over a slab that is still sound, so the slab stays and only its worn face changes. Call (02) 9090 4131 and describe what you have.

Concrete resurfacing across Canterbury-Bankstown

The council area runs from the Georges River in the south to Bankstown and beyond, and its housing ranges from post-war fibro bungalows to rebuilt and extended homes. Slabs of every age sit side by side, so we look at each one on its own merits before we say what it needs.

Not sure which option fits your situation? Call (02) 9090 4131 and talk it through with a contractor.

What the first suburbs have in common and what sets them apart

Picnic Point sits on the Georges River and was gazetted as a suburb in 1975, having been part of East Hills before that. Slabs near the river and the reserves are shaded and damp more often, so cleaning and drainage come first. The Picnic Point page covers it.

Bankstown has been built up since the rail line reached it in 1909, and it has a heritage-listed reinforced-concrete reservoir begun in 1918. Older slabs there often carry old coatings and patched repairs, which have to come off before anything new bonds. See the Bankstown page.

Revesby grew from post-war fibro bungalows, with its station opening in 1931, so slabs of many ages meet on one street and join old concrete to newer pours. The Revesby page explains how we check those joins.

How an estimate works across the area

The method is the same in every suburb. We look at the slab, measure it and note cracks, stains, falls and access. Then we write down the cleaning and repairs, the resurfacing layer and its finish, the sealer and the cure time, and what is not included. Your suburb changes the access and the drainage questions, not the way we quote, and the written estimate comes before any work is booked.

Council rules and checking a contractor

The strip between your boundary and the kerb is public land, and Canterbury-Bankstown Council has a vehicular footway crossing application for building a driveway outside your lot. Resurfacing is aimed at the slab on your side of the line. You can also check any tradesperson’s licence through Service NSW.

Not sure whether your slab is a resurfacing job? Call (02) 9090 4131 and describe it.

Answers to common questions

Which suburbs in Canterbury-Bankstown do you cover?

We are based in Panania and work across the council area. Local pages are listed on this page, and if your suburb is not listed yet, call us and ask.

Do you need council approval to resurface my slab?

Resurfacing the slab inside your boundary is a surface change. The strip between your boundary and the kerb is Council’s, so ring Council before work that reaches it.

How do I check a contractor’s licence in NSW?

Service NSW has a free online licence check. Look up the person or business before you agree to any work, and ask to see the licence on site.
