Decograde Concrete Resurfacing resurfaces concrete in Revesby. If a slab on your block is worn, stained or chipped but still solid, a new bonded surface can renew it without a tear-out. Call (02) 9090 4131 and tell us what you are looking at.
Revesby’s fibro-era slabs
According to the suburb’s Wikipedia entry, Revesby grew as part of Sydney’s post-war urban sprawl, with many modest bungalows built from fibro sheeting. The railway station opened on 21 December 1931. Many Revesby slabs are therefore decades old, and some sit beside newer extensions poured in different years. Slabs of mixed age show mixed wear.
What we look for on an older slab
We sound the concrete for hollow patches, measure cracks and see whether they have moved, and check where water collects. Oil, grease, algae and old sealer each stop a new layer bonding, so we note how much of each is on the surface. A slab that is still solid and only worn on the face is a good candidate.
Send us two or three photos of your Revesby slab and we will tell you what we think. Call (02) 9090 4131.
Steps in a Revesby resurfacing job
- Inspect the slab and agree the finish with you.
- Clean it and remove anything that blocks a bond.
- Grind or etch to open the surface.
- Repair cracks, chips and edges.
- Apply the resurfacing layer and texture.
- Seal it and let it cure to the manufacturer’s specification.

Repairs we do first
Hairline cracks are routed out and filled. Chipped edges and spalled patches are rebuilt. Expansion joints stay as joints and are cut through the new layer. Where a crack keeps moving, we explain why and what that means for the job before you commit.
Choosing a finish for your Revesby slab
Most people choose a spray-on layer in one colour with a light texture. Stencilled patterns, a border or a pebble-mix finish are available too, and each adds hours to the estimate. We show samples so you can see the choices in your own light.

Shops, parking and getting the crew in
Revesby’s shopping strip sits next to the station around Marco Avenue and Selems Parade. If your slab is close to the shops or the station, tell us about parking and access when you ring, and we plan deliveries and the crew’s set-up around it.
For the general method, see the concrete resurfacing page, and for what moves a price the concrete resurfacing cost guide.
Council works and street changes near Revesby shops
Canterbury-Bankstown Council’s Polo Street road safety project proposed a pedestrian crossing near the Marco Avenue shops, and Council adopted it at its 28 February 2023 meeting. Footpath and crossing works change levels at the kerb, so if you live close to works like these, tell us, and we will check where your boundary and the public footpath meet before we plan the job.

What the written estimate covers
The estimate lists the cleaning, the repairs, the resurfacing layer and its texture, the sealer and the cure time. It also says what is not included, so you can compare it with any other quote on equal terms. If we think another job would serve your slab better, the estimate says that as well.
Answers to common questions
Can you resurface a slab that has been extended or patched?
Yes, once we know how the pieces join. Joints between old and new concrete are checked, and any movement is dealt with before the layer goes on.
How do I know whether my slab is worth resurfacing?
If it is solid underfoot and the damage is on the surface, it usually is. We sound it and say honestly if it is not.
Will the new surface match my existing paths?
It can be matched closely in colour and texture, or we can pick a deliberate contrast. We show samples next to your existing concrete.
Do you tidy up afterwards?
Yes. We clear equipment and waste and tell you what must stay off the surface and for how long.
Request a Revesby estimate
Give us the size of the slab and what bothers you about it. We will put a written estimate in your hands before any work starts.
