Decograde Concrete Resurfacing offers exposed aggregate resurfacing in Bankstown: a pebble-mix layer over the concrete you already have, giving the look of small stones set in cement with no demolition. Call (02) 9090 4131 to see samples.
A stone finish for a Bankstown driveway or entry
Exposed aggregate suits driveways and front entries that carry traffic and need grip. It is thicker than a spray coat and is worked while workable, then finished and sealed. The 1918 reinforced-concrete Bankstown Reservoir is a reminder of how long well-made concrete can last when it is cared for.
Thickness, levels and thresholds
The extra layer adds a little height at edges, garage doors and gates, so we check levels before we start and tell you where it will sit.

Choosing stone size and colour
Fine neutral stone suits a modern house, and larger mixed stone suits a garden path or long drive. Bring a photo of your house and we will suggest a mix. We use sample boards that you look at in daylight.
Is aggregate worth the extra over spray-on? Send us photos and the area and we will compare them for your slab. Call (02) 9090 4131.
Cleaning and resealing
Stone finishes hold dirt and moss in their texture. A regular wash and a reseal when the sheen fades keep the surface fresh. We tell you what routine to expect.
Aggregate against other finishes
Exposed aggregate costs more than plain spray-on and gives a textured, grippy, stone-look result. A spray-on finish with a stencil border can get close for less. We give both options in writing so you can compare.
When aggregate is the wrong choice
A small shaded courtyard that holds moss, a slab that is still moving or a surface that must stay perfectly smooth all point elsewhere. We say so if your slab is one of these.
See the exposed aggregate resurfacing page and the cost guide.

How the pebble layer goes on
The slab is cleaned, repaired and primed. The pebble mix is applied in a layer and finished while workable, then sealed once it has cured. It is done in stages and the weather matters, so we choose the days with care and give you the schedule.
Upkeep for a stone-look surface
Wash it regularly and brush off any loose pebbles in the first weeks. Moss and dirt collect in the texture, so shaded areas need more attention. A reseal when the sheen fades keeps the finish looking fresh, and we tell you how often to expect that.

What to compare in two aggregate quotes
Compare the stone mix and where you saw a sample, the thickness and number of stages, the sealer and its re-coat interval, and what is done about cracks. A quote that leaves any of these out is not quite comparable, and we are glad to help you check.
Ask to see how the surface is finished at the edges and around drains, where careless work shows first. Neat edges and clean lines around fixtures are a good sign in any aggregate job.
Answers to common questions
Do loose stones come off in the first weeks?
A few stray pebbles can lift at the start. A properly prepared and sealed layer keeps the rest bonded, and we show you how to brush them off.
Is it slippery when wet?
The texture gives good grip compared with smooth concrete. For pool surrounds we look separately at texture and barefoot comfort.
Can it go over a cracked slab?
Only once the cracks are repaired and the slab is stable. A crack that keeps moving will show through, and we say so first.
Can I see a finished example?
We bring sample boards and photos of finished work. We do not pass off a sample as a customer’s job.
Is exposed aggregate suitable for a pool surround?
It can be, because the texture gives grip. For a pool we also look at how the stone feels on bare feet, and we agree the stone size with you before starting.
